Maybe he felt he really needed the exorcism. I will say this. If he did, it is because he has been told repeatedly via the culture war, that homosexuality is a condition to be cured, and not a modality, an inborn trait. And that makes me very sad for him. Because if that is the case, then he was begging these people to cut the offensive part of his soul off, so that he could now, fit into their narrow box of heterosexism.
This desire was a cry, that he felt his essential nature made him unloveable and irredeemable in the eyes of some judgemental deity. What a profoundly self destructive statement that is. How this young man must be filled utterly with self loathing and stark emotional pain. I know a bit about that, but won't address it here on this blog. But I understand how one can take such short sighted and bigoted messages, and merge with them, so that the hate from without, now screams at a soul from within.
The crazy lady on the video defending this despicable and unethical was a piece of work. She was fairly filled with her own spirit of judgement and deception, oozing her version of righteousness all over the camera lense as she preened over this prideful act of reifying this catastrophic soul loss, this child was suffering from.
I was sickened and had to turn away. I thought that I had emailed myself the video URL but apparently not. Perhaps I just imagined I did, just before I repressed this awful memory of what I just witnessed. I have no doubt, if ever confronted with authentic demonic entities, these people would run like rabbits. Homosexuality is hardly demonic. I mean not unless you believe that the Almighty makes mistakes. And that opens a whole other can of theological larvae.
NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) – A U.S. pastor defended a video posted on YouTube of an exorcism of a gay man, saying the Manifested Glory Ministries church does not hate gay people, it just does not believe in their lifestyle.
Ah yes, hate the sin, but not the sinner? Yes, well we all know how well Hate serves everyone in our everyday lives. How it blinds one to realities that are uncomfortable and complicated. Hate is a handy thing to invoke when one is looking to make sacrifices on the altar of expedience.
Pastor Patricia McKinney said the man told the church "he did not want to live this way."
Of course not. Because society has told him that he is innately something [note thing] to be ashamed of. I mean that self loathing doesnt occur in a vacuum. It has to come from somewhere and he is awfully young to generate that level of self disgust.
They should be invoking Agape, not self inflicted homophobia.

Nietzsche said once said, "Christianity gave Eros poison to drink: he did not die of it but degenerated - into vice." The same could be said of Agape and even Phileo, but vices of a different sort.
As Stephen Colbert said last PM, this must have been seen on "America's Least Tolerant Home Videos."
I wonder what those churchy people would do if that "gay" "demon" decided to inhabit them after it was exorcised from the poor kid?
Why bother. No doubt its already crowded in there.
I'm still not clear what Agape means:
"A title of the goddess Isis was agape theon, or "beloved/darling of the gods," denoting her role as a fertility/life goddess and her pairing as a partner with the masculine god aspects. While this pairing was often sexual in nature, the term agape implied a genuine affection and deep love for the goddess."
Although some sources claim agape appears in the Odyssey twice, the word is in fact not used. Instead, two forms of the word agape may be found: agapĂȘton and agapazomenoi. AgapĂȘton is found in Book 5 of the Odyssey and means "beloved" or "well-loved". Agapazomenoi is found in books 7 and 17 of the Odyssey and means “to treat with affection".
"The verb agapao is used extensively in the Septuagint as the translation of the common Hebrew term for love which is used to show affection for husband/wife and children, brotherly love, and God's love for humanity. It is uncertain why agapao was chosen, but similarity of consonant sounds may have played a part. The Greek concept may have originated as a transliteration from some Semitic tongue. This usage provides the context for the choice of this otherwise obscure word, in preference to other more common Greek words, as the most frequently used word for love in Christian writings. The use of the noun agape in this way appears to be an innovation of the New Testament writers, but is clearly derived from the use of the verb agapao in the Septuagint."
That said, the usage of and arcane and ridiculous ritual such as exorcism is an affront to modern civilization.
I shall deal with these people directly, as soon as a I can find my voodoo dolls.
